Mortonagrion arthuri is definitely an uncommon Odonata species in Peninsular Malaysia. In Peninsular Malaysia M. arthuri are found in two locations - Tioman Island (Pahang) and Teluk Rubiah Forest Reserve (Perak). From my own field surveys, there are two sites in Tioman Island and one site in Teluk Rubiah Forest Reserve where this species could be found. All these sites (aquatic habitat) show the penetration of sea water during high tide, meaning that M. arthuri somehow tolerates some degree of salinity.
