Chalybeothemis fluviatilis is a swamp and peat swamp species. The genus
Chalybeothemis contains three species -
C. fluviatilis,
C. chini and
C. pruinosa. The former two species can be found in Peninsular Malaysia while the last one is confined to Borneo.
