Libellulidae - Nesoxenia lineata
When I first spotted Nesoxenia lineata from far, I thought it was an Agrionoptera insignis. However, a close look on the abdomen could easily differentiate N. lineata from A. insignis. N lineata is less common compared to A. insignis, though both of them like swampy forest.

Book - Dragonflies of Taiwan
Today I received a dragonfly book from a Taiwanese friend Paul. The book entitled "Photographic guide of 120 dragonfly species of Taiwan" was published by Wild Bird Society of Taipei in 2005. The author of the book is Mei-Hua Tsou.

Libellulidae - Chalybeothemis fluviatilis
I have been doing sampling throughout Malaysia for the past five years. Whenever, Chalybeothemis fluviatilis was encountered, it was always present in one or two individuals. However, I was taken aback when I saw so many C. fluviatilis along Sg Bebar. In Peninsular Malaysia, two Chalybeothemis species have been recorded: C. fluviatilis and C. chini. C. chini is a newly (in 2007) described species from Tasik Chini (a site not too far from Sg. Bebar)

Libellulidae - Orchithemis pruinans
I would consider Orchithemis pruinans is one of the less common dragonfly species of Peninsular Malaysia. It is very local and normally found at swamp and alluvial forest. I was so lucky to be able to photograph it.

Chlorocyphidae - Libellago hyalina
Libellago hyalina is normally found at sluggish streams and swamp forest. The matured male has violet colour on its abdomen. There are plenty of them in Sg Bebar. Therefore, I had good opportunity to take some nice shoots of them during my visit to Sg Bebar.
